My background, as described in my resume includes over five years of Systems Administration activities accross a number of Government Departments. I currently hold a temporary full-time position at Department of XXXX as a Systems Administrator and am seeking to secure a permanent position in the same field.
I have had extensive VMware and VCenter administration experience migrating virtual machines using both Physical to Virtual (P2V) and Virtual to Virtual (V2) strategies. This included a project team that covered over 250 migrations over an 18 month period. I have also supported and managed a large high availability Citrix environment and a high availability Microsoft SQL server 2008 cluster.
In previous positions I had significant exposure troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP environments as well as some virtualization troubleshooting experience using Linux, VMware and Cisco hardware. The Cisco virtualization included administration of the Nexus 1000V virtual switches.
I understand that you are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator and I believe that my background enables me to meet your criteria. I am happy to travel once a month as described in the job advertisement and am available to work after hours between Monday to Thursday as requested.

Infrastructure Systems Support Cover Letter

I am writing to apply for the position of Infrastructure Support Specialist WAN as advertised on websitename and submit my details for your consideration.
The description in the advertisement has many similarities to my own experiences. Having a unique pportunity to be involved with the design and creation of a WAN for CompanyX communications carrying 250,000 subscribers, I was involved with the development of the Network Operations Center and all its monitoring and performance measuring components.
Subsequent contracts including Federal Health allowed me to work in a WAN environment from a Novell perspective. In my current position I am a senior administrator (Novell and Cisco) for the corporate WAN spanning four continents. I’ve been heavily involved with the creation of standards and procedures as well as WAN monitoring and performance testing for CompanyX and CompanyY.
Relevant formal qualifications include Master CNE and CCNA. I have, however, completed all the courses for the CCNP and hope to take the formal exams in the near future. I have sound linux/unix skills having set up and supported common applications such as DNS, MRTG and Squid on that platform from as early as 2006 till this day.
