I have over five years of experience with enterprise Microsoft technologies including three years in my current role as a Systems Administrator for IT-Pathways.com.

Over this time I have worked extensively with Microsoft Active Directory configuration over a Wide Area Network improving login times for end users by an average of 3 minutes. This work included modifying group policy as well as login scripts on Virtual Machines and physical hosts.

As requested in the job advertisement, I have had over 2 years of Active Directory administration experience. This experience was complemented by Active Directory Training for Windows Server 2008 which I completed earlier this year. I hope to build on this training to complete the MCSA and MCSE certifications by the end of the year.

I have also completed Sharepoint Server 2007 installations in two of my previous positions taking on the role of lead sharepoint administrator for over six months.

I would like to apply for the position of Windows Administrator as advertised in jobsearchwebsiteXYZ.com on 6 August, 2011.

I have recently completed an Associate Diploma in Information Technology where we worked on and studied the Windows and Intel architectures extensively. The course curriculum is based on the Microsoft MCSE training curriculum, it included the following training;

- Active Directory support and architecture
- File share permissions and Disk permissions
- Group policy configuration and architecture
- Intel based server hardware components including familiarity with RAID disk technologies
- TCP/IP protocol basics

I believe that this training along with home computer projects, my home Microsoft network and assisting friends and family with Windows troubleshooting has prepared me well for the Windows Administrator role on offer today.

You will find me an enthusiastic and cooperative young person with a genuine desire to learn. I have also attached personal references from my course lecturer and my former mathematics teacher for your perusal.
