Job Description

To provide governance, direction and leadership in the areas of service delivery, application development/delivery  and/or infrastructure.


Tasks and Activities

  • Govern the delivery of IT systems implementation and support.
  • Monitor and maintain operational revenue, margins and expenses.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to Service Level Agreements.
  • Manage, motivate and lead Information Technology professionals.
  • Identify and address training and skills requirements in line with the business strategic plan and technology road maps.
  • Ensure that client projects are delivered to meet required outcomes, quality and client experience metrics.
  • Asses and address the impact of operational issues.
  • Deliver, endorse and promote acceptable use policies.
  • Own/perform training, safety, risk and record keeping compliance audits.
  • Identify and negotiate third party agreements including suppliers and outsourcing contracts.
  • Provide reporting and recommendations to executive management.


Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Planning, controlling and scheduling operational and project resources.
  • Broad knowledge process improvement techniques and principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Change Management frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management methodologies such as PMBOK or Prince2.
  • Experience in leadership roles.
  • Excellent knowledge of information systems and infrastructure.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development methodologies.


Organizational Position

Reporting to the Executive Director this position includes board memberships (Leadership Board, Change Advisory Board) as well as numerous group memberships (Technical Reference Group). The position also leads the project delivery, operations, help desk and service delivery teams.


Qualifications & Certifications

May hold a degree such as a Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Business or an MBA as well as ITIL certifications.
