IT Project Manager Cover Letter
Dear Mr Craigs,
I was pleased to find the IT Project Manager position advertised in the newspaper times on 20 March. The position as described is well suited to my skills and experience. I wish to apply for the vacancy and submit my details for your consideration.
My recent success as a Project Manager delivering a three year state wide Web/.NET application rollout seems to draw many parallels to the offered position. Managing a team of thirty five staff we designed and implemented a three phase approach strictly governed by the Prince2 methodology. Liaising and communicating at all levels I managed a number of complex client relationships and successfully mitigated significant risks that were identified early in the project.
Other past relevant projects involving similar technologies include a two year Dynamic HTML web content project that passed User Acceptance Testing two months ahead of schedule and a Web Content consolidation project undertaken for a Government department.
I consider difficult negotiations some of my key strenghths as demonstrated in 2004 when I delivered two high profile Government projects in the middle of an election period. I look forward to working in a dynamic busy environment and relish the opportunity to produce a favourable outcome in the challenging conditions described in the advertisement.
